Painting the steam was harder than I thought. The train you mention sounds interesting. Even the Queen has once sat in that train. Unfortunately I have not seen that myself. Brings back memories of our family rides on the steam trains
You have a nice fun little blog here Polly.
Mike.Mikehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02085501925776767124noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5008100300656988117.post-3222669145589412752013-02-16T09:34:58.626-08:002013-02-16T09:34:58.626-08:00Hubby is a fan (of steam trains and real ale) Liv...Hubby is a fan (of steam trains and real ale) Living in Whitstable, we are just a few miles from Shepherd Neame Brewery in Faversham/Kent, home of Masterbrew, Spitfire, Bishops Finger, Whitstable Bay, Kents Best - to name just a few!

Yep it was a special steam trip - 'real ale express' I believe. But I've photographed steam locomotives at our local station when they stop to take on water (supplied by the local Fire Brigade) - they visit Whitstable 3 or 4 time per year.

Sue Clinkerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15582183867336673426noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5008100300656988117.post-34340850632247124012013-02-16T09:16:05.841-08:002013-02-16T09:16:05.841-08:00I love steemtrains! Me and my girls have spent some time there, at their Western days they have every summer. We use to go on the steemtrain when we are there. And we also during this travell by train meet cow boys and out laws and also look at a robbery done by theese outlaws. The journey ends in Mexico city, where you can go for western riding and eat Tex mex food at a taverna. At times you really do feel like being in the wild west for reall! They have a homepage , you can have a look! These trains must be like the specials that go on the Settle-Carlisle railway. They are packed. It's the noise and the smell too. Will check out your pics. Oh, and I wonder are you a fan of Read Ale then?Polly Birchallhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18071252070928856360noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5008100300656988117.post-62081837466921529642013-02-15T15:08:39.492-08:002013-02-15T15:08:39.492-08:00Yep, we get regular steam trains on the line from ...Yep, we get regular steam trains on the line from London to the Kent Coast. My favourite is the London Victoria to Faversham during the Kent Hop Festival. We travelled that route a few years ago (mostly in the Kent Real Ale compartment) in the company of a big crowd of Pearly Kings and Queens - Brilliant!!

Nothing better than seeing that huge cloud of steam/smoke belching from the engine .... I've posted a few photos of steam trains taken from the local stations - somewhere in my Blog over the last 12 months.

Your school poster is probably a Classic now and worth a fortune LOLSue Clinkerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15582183867336673426noreply@blogger.com
