UMBRELLAS

First of all thanks for comments from those of you who have joined me in my memories of art.  My next comparison is - yes you guessed, umbrellas.

One is of Venice where it poured every day we were there 18 months ago and I am thrilled to say I sold it, one is a poster (we seemed to do a lot of posters at school) it will  not have taken me long as it has homework written on it and I hated homework even art,  this was for a large department store in Manchester called Kendalls and the third is an abstract.  Brollies are a nightmare to draw don't you think.  Hope you like them ...............

  1. I LOVE umbrellas. They along with bicycles are very hard to draw but so romantic in a painting. :)Love your Venice scene. All there are great.

  2. Thanks Cris. Sometimes they are a nightmare. I should do bikes they add a little to a plain scene. Think I will practice them.

  3. Hello Polly:) No wonder you sold that first painting. The way you painted the figures and their shadows and the beautiful building in the background. Perfect! The other two I love too. I def like the abstract! Eh...., what are brollies? My translater didn't want to translate it:)

  4. Ooops! They are umbrellas Renate. I was inspired by Alvaro Castagnet to paint this from a photograph of mine of St Mark's Square in Venice. I was sad to sell it because I was very pleased with it.
