BUSY WORKING

Here's a couple of paintings, one from my school days showing people ironing and the other is present day.  See if you can guess what their jobs are.

Looking at these two so many years apart and yet I have used similar colours.  Spooky or what!

Here is one of lovely Dad's sayings that I thought I would like to share with you "Never trouble trouble til trouble troubles you".  I can just see and hear him saying it. Been gone for a long time but I still Miss you Dad!

  1. Polly - looks like potters - is some of the color choices ultramarine and light red? Looks good together. Thank you for sharing.

    1. How observant of you re colours. Yes potters and glass blowers, very warm jobs. I don't use Light Red a lot but it was perfect for the warmth I wanted in the workers. Thank for visiting.

  2. You were destined to paint Polly, your school day image choice shows how women figured so strongly in home duties and the second one with the artisans could now easily be men or women! (love them both btw)

    1. I have noticed how some of the old paintings really tell a story of the past. I agree with you about the roles of today being less defined. Interesting isn't it?
